​​We met in 2011 playing Adult Kickball in DC at our team's Meet and Greet Happy Hour. We bonded over The Simpsons and Shakespeare. We dated for four years before getting married in 2015.
​
Mike managed a local independent hardware store in Arlington, VA for 19 years. Laine worked at Arlington's public access station (Arlington Independent Media) and local LPFM radio station (WERA 96.7FM) for five years. While we both loved the community we lived in, we felt a change of scenery would be an interesting change for us.
​
Originating from the opposite points (Boston, MA and Arlington, VA) on the East Coast, we were having trouble deciding where to settle down. Since we couldn't find a compromise and we only lived on the East Coast, we thought why not shop around and see the rest of this beautiful country.
​
In July 2017, we bought our 2003 Fleetwood Bounder after a rigorous RV buying hunt. We did as many renovations (new toilet, new lights, roof work, etc.) and upgrades (painting walls, stitched curtains, door removal, etc.) over the next two months. Mike learned a great deal to improve and maintain our RV before we left our jobs and hit the road in October 2017.

We plan on visiting family & friends, National Parks, obscure landmarks, independent hardware stores, local public access stations, LP FM radio stations, and much more.
